Retirement Living Guide

Plain-English information for homeowners planning their retirement: housing, home equity, and the questions worth asking before you decide.

About reverse mortgages

A reverse mortgage is a loan available to homeowners 62 and older. You keep ownership of your home and may remain in it as long as you meet the loan requirements, including living in the home as your primary residence and staying current on property taxes, homeowner's insurance, upkeep, and any HOA fees. Eligibility varies, and it isn't the right fit for everyone. Talk it through with your family and a licensed professional.
